Viscount White is a sound vanity top. It is a granite with a white ground and flowing gray and black movement, hard enough to resist scratches and unaffected by the acids that etch marble. The catch is variation: slabs run from light to dark, and listings disagree on origin, so inspect the exact slab.

Is Viscount White granite a good choice for a bathroom vanity?
For the top, yes. Sellers describe it as a dense, heat-resistant granite with a white ground and swirling gray and black, and list vanity tops, tub surrounds, backsplashes and fireplace surrounds among its uses. Granite does not etch from substances like wine, according to Use Natural Stone, so it avoids the main weakness of white marble.
The trade-offs are visual unpredictability and the lack of published performance data. None of the listings reviewed gives absorption, density or hardness for this stone, so ask for the supplier's test data if it matters to your project.

Why do Viscount White slabs look so different from each other?
MQ Stone says its Viscount White comes in light and dark tones with large pattern variation, so confirm the base color before ordering. RK Marbles describes white, grey and black swirls that flow together; Poly Building calls it flowing waves of grey, black and white; Avant Stone, an Australian stockist, describes a cool grey with bold sweeping movement.
| Source | Description | Finish listed |
|---|---|---|
| RK Marbles (India) | White, grey and black swirls; white ground with subtle gray veins | High-gloss polished |
| Poly Building | Flowing grey, black and white waves | Honed, polished or leathered |
| Avant Stone (Australia) | Cool grey, bold sweeping movement | Honed |
| MQ Stone | White and gray with black; light and dark lots | Not stated |
Seller descriptions as published; the spread in color words is the variation to expect.
This is movement rather than the fine speckle of Bianco Antico, which has a busier, more granular pattern.
Where does Viscount White granite come from?
The sources reviewed do not agree, and most do not say. MQ Stone does not name a quarry, Avant Stone and Poly Building do not state an origin, and RK Marbles sells from Makrana, Rajasthan and marks its page Made in India. A search result for Arizona Tile, whose page blocked access here, reportedly names an Indian quarry; that is unconfirmed.
Treat origin as unverified until a supplier documents it. General geology: granite forms from slowly cooled silica-rich magma and, per Wikipedia, has a density of about 2.65–2.75 g/cm³, or 165–172 lb/ft³. This describes the variety only.
Which finish should I choose for Viscount White?
Poly Building lists honed, polished and leathered. The finish changes how the movement reads: polished adds contrast and gloss, honed softens it and hides water spots better, and leathered adds texture. Only samples show the difference, so request each finish on the same lot.
For floors, Daltile's note on its granite slabs says polished surfaces are not recommended where slip resistance is a concern and that natural stone does not meet minimum friction thresholds set by safety standard organizations. Choose a honed or textured face and ask for a friction test.
How often does Viscount White need sealing?
Avant Stone recommends sealing every two to three years and calls the stone easy to clean with warm water and mild soap. RK Marbles says it is stain resistant when properly sealed, and MQ Stone offers sealers on request. Those are sellers, not standards.
Use Natural Stone says most granites should be sealed, that a good sealer can last up to 10 years with the right daily cleaners, and that dish detergent leaves a film. Its hot-water test replaces guessing. MSI adds that light-colored granite is protected by a quality sealer and that oil must be wiped up promptly.
How does Viscount White behave in a bathroom?
Vanity tops and tub surrounds are listed uses. Shower walls work if the stone is sealed and the wall is waterproofed behind it; follow your installer and local code. Daltile advises against natural stone in wet areas exposed to chemicals or extreme heat and humidity such as steam rooms.
A mixed gray-and-black pattern hides splashes and soap film well. Granite is heavy: our weight model uses about 168 lb/ft³. For marble comparisons, see marble vs granite vanity top, or Carrara for a classic white marble.
What looks like Viscount White granite?
MSI's light granite guide shows white granites such as White Galaxy and Everest that share a white ground with dark accents, and Daltile's white granite range lists Dallas White and Himalaya White as related slabs. Among marbles, gray-veined Carrara gives a similar white-gray impression with softer veining.
